The Feria of Parentis-en-Born

You probably know, if only by name, the ferias of Bayonne, Nîmes or even Dax. There is another, smaller, but still a popular event for bullfighting enthusiasts. From August 9 to August 13, 2019, meet at the Parentis-en-Born feria, which brings together families and friendly circles from the city and the Landes and brings together tens of thousands of festivals. An unmissable event for aficionados

Called Feria de Sen Bertomiu, this festival presents aficionados of novilladas, corridas where novillos (young bulls) and young bullfighters clash as well as more famous bullfighters. Parentis-en-Born is the only town in the Landes to have an arena. Its Roland Portalier arenas, 3rd category, with a capacity of 4,000 seats, welcome bullfighting enthusiasts during the feria to attend six shows. In 100 years, Parentis-en-Born has hosted famous bullfighters as well as renowned ganaderias.

While the feria offers six bullfights to come and enjoy at the arenas, other activities are on the program for those who prefer to have fun with friends to the sound of music over a drink. Landes race, exhibitions, competitions, parades of floats adorned with flowers, concerts, or even tasting sessions for gourmets, will embody the festive side taking place in the streets of the city. From lunchtime until the early hours, everyone can have fun in the bodegas and in music, listening to the concerts of bandas.

The children are also in the game. A party is dedicated to them with a wide variety of activities: a real treasure hunt, various shows and workshops for their greatest amusement.

In short, the fair will contain a profusion of activities, each more entertaining than the next. And to get in the mood more than ever, the feasts are asked to dress in white and red!

• Access to the feria: The feria will take place a 10-minute drive from the A63 motorway (50 minutes from Bordeaux and 1 hour 15 minutes from Bayonne). Free parking is available at the intersection of avenue Brémontier with allées Malichecq, avenue du 11-Novembre, near the medical office located avenue Pasteur, avenue de la Gare, rue Jules-Ferry, rue des Droits-de-l ‘Man and dead end of the Cemetery. Festival-goers traveling by bus will have access to the three shuttles serving Ychoux, Sanguinet and Biscarrosse (return ticket: € 3).
